  1. If it breaks, fix it. You’d be amazed what you can do with duct tape and glue.

      Amanda,
You are so right! I think we through things away too quickly these days.
It makes me thing of another great idea – giving things away! I know a virtual worker who was downsizing his office and gave his office furniture to someone who was just starting her biz. It was a gift for him and for her.
Thanks for visiting – keep the comments coming!

  2. You can also become a member of sites that give you some sort of cashback or rebate for shopping. I use a site daily for all of my research where I earn digital dollars for using their site. I earned enough last year to pay for 90% of all the diapers for my grand daughter and a good portion of our Christmas gifts. I have links for many ways to accomplish this on my blog. My thoughts are that if it isn’t free, it isn’t fun.

I found you on Bloggy Moms and wanted to stop by and tell a neighbor hello. I live in your area. I am a frugal blogger and blog about many topics all frugal related.

      Ginger,
Thanks for visiting! And thanks for the added frugal advise.
Though it’s not a main topic for the anywhere worker blog here, I’m glad you are around to help folks with ideas!

  3. When I put my home office together, I put the desk in the middle of the room and left it there long enough to figure out where I wanted to put storage, my white board, calendar, printer etc. I was lucky that there were plenty of electrical outlets in that room to accomodate my maze of cords.

Using the desk with nothing else in place for a while helped me determine what I really needed and the best location for ease of use. I kept a running list of the items I used all the time so that I could keep only those items on my desk. I stored the other items I used with any frequency as close as possible.

Office furniture isn’t necessarily cheap and a good chair is mandatory. Thankfully Sam’s had a chair that I really liked at a great price. The rest of the items I purchased online at sites with sales & cashback and it all ended up being very affordabe after the cashback.

Everything else, I did just as Linda suggested and used tools, applications, programs etc that were all free on the Internet. I checked out a couple that were linked in the post. :)
