  1. Great post, Linda

I have been in bucket #3 for the past three years after a long corporate career. You hit the it right on. I would welcome #4 as a development. Freelancing works great if there is a steady stream of work. The pressure of finding jobs is the biggest pain point.

My additional prediction – the ability to work virtually will create a whole new area of psychology devoted to the problems of isolation of the home office. I’ve seen a few “office clubs” here in LA. Physical buildings where you rent space and they provide coffee, a cube, wireless, phones, etc. You get to network with other club members and go to lunch together just like working in a regular office.

      Roger,
You really are reading my mind! Isolation is one of the ‘existential’ conditions that I deal with most in my coaching practice. It will be very interesting to see how we as human beings respond to these changes.
I love the idea of a gathering place (both virtual and in person) for these new anywhere workers! Maybe some of our real-estate contacts will read this and start thinking of future growth!
